Our Mission

Throughout our San Fernando Valley community, boys and girls struggle to find positive role models and productive outlets for their recreational time. Broken or dysfunctional home environments and economic pressures leave an increasing number of children at home with no adult care or supervision. All too often, these same youth turn to gangs for companionship, a sense of worth, and protection.

Under the direction of the Los Angeles Police Department, Jeopardy provides after-school programs geared toward boys and girls ages 9-17 who may otherwise be inclined to join a gang or cause civil unrest.

Jeopardy’s educational programs and activities give these kids a chance to reach their full potential through:

Education programs coordinated with the youth’s teacher and school provide after school tutoring and homework assistance that instill the importance of staying in school, getting good grades, and graduating.

Sports, fitness, and recreation programs such as soccer, basketball, handball, volleyball, archery, equestrian, and competitive boxing develop character and interpersonal skills.

Mentoring programs expose youth to positive role models in business, law enforcement, politics and the community as a whole.

Counseling for parents provides them with the skills necessary to be positive, supportive and a strong influence in their children’s lives; counseling for the youth helps them to be positive participants in the community.

Hope, offering youth a promising future in education, career and other pursuits.
